The Restoration Team is grateful for the support and assistance of the business community.

Gulfstream's contributions include the painting of the B17's interior and the application of insignia and labeling. Many of our volunteers are Gulfstream employees who bring their special aviation expertise to the restoration.

LMI restored the fabric-covered rudder, elevators, and ailerons in their Pooler facility; reconfigured the bomb bay doors; made a cheek blister and the top navigator dome fairing in their St. Louis facility; donated raw material to fabricate parts and provided heat treatment for them. Through LMI’s corporate connections John Calvert had Nordam (a Gulfstream window supplier) donate Plexiglas to make new fuselage windows.

Chroma USA donated two heavy duty DC power units (costing over $12,000) used to operate the B17's electrical systems.

TAFHS' Tommy Garcia, a leading expert in B17 restorations, continues to provide critical project guidance and has donated numerous B17 parts.

JCB has loaned us lifting equipment, has donated land for Museum expansion, and hosts the annual Flying Fortress 5K race on their campus.

Yancey Brothers Caterpillar frequently lend us "cherry-picker" lifts when we need to access high points on the aircraft.

Original B17 landing lights could only be turned on while the aircraft was flying because without constant cooling airflow they would overheat and burn-out. Baja Designs supplied low amperage landing lights that generate significantly less heat, yet provide the same illumination.

Altis Aero Systems has provided advice and support relative to the re-wiring of aircraft electrical systems and avionics.

David Abare is the brother of Paul Abare, a long time City of Savannah volunteer. David and his wife, Kim, the owners of New England Die Cutting, Inc., have very graciously donated all of the rubber that makes up the de-icing boots on the City of Savannah
